FINISHED! & the lost month
April was something of a lost month. I had finished the first draft of a middle grade novel by the end of March - a goal I made at the beginning of the year and met! However, my plans for writing the second draft of that novel in the month of April were thwarted by what seemed like an endless barrage of sickness for every member of our family.
We were out sick, our kids were out sick, we had to stay home with them, we had to pick them up early from school. Right when we thought we were on the cusp of feeling better it would come back, and then it would just…linger.
We took enough Covid tests to be pretty sure it wasn’t that and was just a series of bad colds and stomach viruses and one ear infection.
Whew.
So, the goal for the month of May is to complete the second draft of the middle grade book, and then give it to a few people to read. While that’s happening, I need to figure out what’s next! There are a couple of novel ideas I’m super excited about - one of them is one I’ve had for a while, and I feel like I need to bite the bullet and just go for it. It’s for adults and it’s a crime/mystery that I think has a pretty great hook.
